An MOT is a legal requirement, but it’s also a valuable annual health check on your vehicle’s safety.

At Pro‑Tech Automotive, we carry out MOT testing for Class 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 vehicles – covering motorcycles, cars, larger passenger vehicles, and commercial vans up to 5.5 tonnes – from our Leeds test centre.

With 13 ramps and a high-capacity workshop, we offer flexible appointment times and efficient turnaround, so your MOT fits around your schedule rather than the other way around.

What’s tested in an MOT?

Your MOT covers a thorough inspection of the key systems that affect your vehicle’s roadworthiness, including brakes, steering, suspension, lights, tyres, exhaust emissions, bodywork, and visibility. A pass means your vehicle meets the minimum legal safety standard. A fail identifies the specific items that need attention before it does.

At Pro‑Tech Automotive, you’ll always receive a clear, honest report of the results. If advisories or failures are identified, we’ll explain exactly what they mean and provide a straightforward quote for any remedial work with no obligation to proceed with us, though most of our customers do.

MOT & service together

Combining your MOT with a service is a smart way to keep on top of your vehicle’s maintenance in a single visit. Our team can carry out both on the same day in most cases saving you time and ensuring nothing gets missed.

Our test centre is easy to reach directly from the motorway network, with ample parking on site. Collection and delivery is also available within ten miles if you’d prefer us to come to you.

Top service & Mot - I booked my Mercedes CLA35 at this garage for the very first time, after reading their highly recommended on-line reviews.
My car was picked up and delivered back later on the day.
I would like to put this on record - this was by far the best service interaction from start to finish with a family owned Independent business. Everything was highlighted and carried out as discussed, even the car came back spotless!

Great service once again from Pro‑Tech Automotive Ltd.
They carried out an oil service on my car on Friday 31st July and the whole process was smooth and well organised.

Steph rang me the day before to confirm everything was still OK for the collection time, which I appreciated. They explained that the drop‑off time might vary depending on other work, but they’d do their best — and in the end the car was returned earlier than expected, which was a bonus.

Phil collected and dropped off the car was friendly and professional, just as I’d experienced with them in 2025. The paperwork was all sorted, and they even washed and vacuumed the car, which was a great touch.

Overall, a reliable, friendly and efficient service. I’ll definitely be using Pro‑Tech Automotive Ltd again.

Took my Jeep in for its first service, excellent communication from start to finish from Steph who made the whole process a breeze! No hidden costs, no unexpected add ons, a great service throughout. Kind enough to give my car a full wash and vac plus a brew and the option to work from their premises. Everyone that came in as I was waiting spoke on first name terms too which is a good indicator that people keep coming back. Also met the gent who previously owned the company pre him selling up and them becoming Pro Tech Automotive, having his aircon fixed which will definitely be needed this week! Look forward to seeing you again. I absolutely recommend this company!
